Case of the Mondays

The forecast called for 2 to 4 inches of snow last night and we ended up with 6 to 8 inches! The new snow was not the super light powder snow, but it was just what the doctor ordered. Ski Patrol dropped ropes on 17 trails today, we now have 68 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Weather permitting tomorrow, we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including Madonna I. 37 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Drifter, Ruthie’s, Log Jam, Dixie’s Knoll, Smugglers’ Alley, Thomke’s, Snake Bite, and the skier’s right on Upper FIS for a total of 195 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 12 to 52 inches. Currently, it is partly sunny and 29 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies, windy with a high of 49 degrees at the base and 45 degrees at higher elevations.
